Keeping family tradition alive
The Gaspar Foundation launched in 2015 was an initiative of Moishan Gaspar Abdal-lah – a great grandson of the Gaspar family that until 1996 had been running one of the most esteemed galleries in Barcelona.
His contemporary art space located in a unique Gothic palace aims to fill a gap in Barcelona’s art scene, collaborate with international artists (such as Martin Creed, Dieter Roth, Louise Bourgeois and Paul McCarthy) and bring refreshing art closer to the public.
It is right next to the Picasso Museum, so pop in and see how it has been doing so far! Additionally, it houses a charming café, a bookshop and a multi-purpose room for talks and events.
